I am 66 years old, single, and from Grand Rapids, Michigan. I was a member of the Las Vegas BMW Road Runners club, back in 1983.
I am retired almost 4 years now, from CSX Transportation, and the prior Chessie System. I was a journeyman Carman
We can retire after 30 years of service, at age 60. I had to work to 62, to get my 30 years in.
I have had various motorcycles over the years, and still have the 1980 BMW R100RT I bought new, in 1981.
I have about 250,000 miles on two wheels, and got my BMW 100,000 mile award and certificate, a few years ago.
My BMW got parked/stored back around 2002, because of some unforeseen circumstances (life tends to interfere with play time)
I have a 2001 Aprilia SR50 Ditech (50cc moped) I bought with 300 miles on it. I ride it when the temperature gets over 80F, back home,
and have about 8,000 miles on it now.
My brother, Mark Zalaoras, has been here since 1977, after he graduated with a JD, from Notre Dame Law School.
He is semi-retired, but still has a private practice.
He clerked here for Judge Legakes, and after passing the Bar, was hired by the City of Las Vegas.
He later worked for North Las Vegas, and ended up as acting city attorney, and also head of human resources (both at the same time!), for a while, when they went through staff changes. The new city attorney they hired didn't want to keep Mark, so he left, and went into private practice, until hired by Henderson.
He ended up retiring from Henderson.
While at North Las Vegas, he took Blanton v City of North Las all the way to the US Supreme Court, and won.
