Back in the 1930s, Otto Von Guttenheimer would blast his 1935 BMW R17 down Las Vegas Boulevard, wowing the cowboys, gangsters, and nannies with his loud-racket contraption. In 1939, Nigel Pinfield rolled into town on his Triumph T100 and challenged Otto to a race. Otto of course agreed. After a hearty breakfast of fried eggs, hashbrowns, and a plate of fresh fruit, they lined their front forks up for battle. Bessie McFadden dropped her handkerchief and the adversaries lunged off the starting line, rocketing their hot, metal stallions down the strip, from Tropicana to Sahara, kicking up dust and ricocheting a siren of pistons off the shady front street signs. Nigel of course won the race on his brilliant British miracle machine. But the dual sprouted a long relationship of hearty breakfasts and contests of speed between the newest and fastest European motorcycles. In 1942, Otto and Nigel started The European Motorcycle Owners of Las Vegas and the rest, as the say, is history. If you'd like to be part of this fabulous heritage, join us for breakfast any Sunday at our new location on South Decatur Blvd.
